Newborn Memory Box

It’s Tenley’s first birthday this week and I thought this was a perfect time to share her newborn memory box. A few people have asked what’s in it, so here it is! In it I included: her hospital top, hospital hat, hospital socks, newborn hat with the bow (she wore this all the time so I had to include it), going home Georgia Tech hat, footprints, birth info card, contraction monitor straps, my hospital bracelet, and her hospital bracelet.

I love having this out on display… one glance at it and it takes me back to those precious first moments with my girl. It all goes by just way too fast!

Little Grace Cakes | Buttercream Peonies

This was my first attempt at buttercream peonies. It was a bit harder than I expected since my buttercream consistency was a little too soft, but I still love how it turned out. Definitely going to try a different recipe and tip (Wilton #402) next time. Luckily my neighbors love cake and have been taking these practice cakes off my hands so me and my husband don’t have to eat them!

Here are the tips I used to create this pretty little cake.

Peonies: 102 (inner layers) , 104 (mid layers), 123 (outer layers)

Buds: 5, 10

Border: 10

Pretty Little Cakes

I’ve stumbled across a new hobby that I’m absolutely loving lately. I recently started planning Tenley’s first birthday party and decided to make the cakes myself. I’ve been practicing my baking/cake decorating skills and these cakes were just too pretty not to share! Check back soon for a recipe or tutorial soon. 🙂
