Green Is The New Neutral

Since renovating our kitchen I have loved using green as an accent color.  If you’re like me and don’t like using a lot of color in your home decor (neutral girl over here!), then green is the perfect addition since it tends to read more of a neutral.

I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites from drinking glasses (that I currently own) to affordable bedding. (Links provided below the photos.) These items are a great way to add pops of green here in there in your home! xoxo, Carrie

Kitchen Reveal

I can’t believe I can finally make this blog post! This has been a loooong time coming. To give some back story, after having our first born we decided to downsize so I could stay home with our sweet girl and we could be closer to my parents. We decided on a ranch style fixer upper and moved in the day after Thanksgiving in 2016. Well, just a couple weeks later we found out we were having baby #2…. surprise!!! 🙂 This kind of put all of our house renovation plans on hold. Once we were out of the newborn phase we knew the kitchen was the first thing that had to change! I can’t believe I’m even sharing the before photos (eeek!). We mapped out a budget for this project and knew we would need to replace all of our appliances. Since that took out a big chunk of the budget, we knew we wouldn’t be able to replace the cabinets. I didn’t mind that at all since I actually liked the custom cabinets that the home came with. Someone recommended Almand Specialty Painting & Design to us and I couldn’t be happier with our beautiful WHITE cabinets! What a difference it makes to this space!

I’ve linked most sources below each photo. I will definitely be going more in depth about the cabinets, countertops, and appliances in future blog posts. Now to decide on which project is next…. I’m thinking new floors or our master bathroom remodel! Hope y’all enjoy coming along with us as we renovate our little fixer upper. xoxo, Carrie

Valentine’s Day Toddler Snacks

valentines snacks

My two year old is a super picky eater so I’ll take any excuse to make snack time or lunch time more fun! I think the cute heart shapes and sprinkles distract her from the fact that she’s actually eating. She definitely eats more when I do things like this…. even though she ended up painting the grilled cheese with yogurt. 🙂 I love using the divided plate for her DIY yogurt parfait. I included honey nut Cheerios and dried fruit for her to mix into the yogurt (I also added some sprinkles I had on hand for some extra fun). You can find all the plates and utensils I use at! I’ve listed and linked the specific items/colors below:

Blush Divided Plate, White Flat Plate, Red Flat Plate, White Utensils, Red Utensils, Blush Utensils

Pumpkin Patch Farm

Can it please be October all year long?? This is by far my favorite month of the year… give me all the pumpkin patches, scary movies, and hot coffee! We moved last Thanksgiving, so I had to look up where to visit for fun fall activities this year. I came across the Pumpkin Patch Farm and it did not disappoint! It has the cutest activities for toddlers…. face paintings, tire swings, slides, John Deere peddlers, a hay maze, a petting zoo, and hay rides! We will definitely be going back!
